Leadership Motivation And Desire

These days I have devoted several articles to the reasons, perhaps because the times in which we live, full of negative news, it requires a little digging how to motivate ourselves and others. There is an intense debate, they should ask the friend – about what motivates us and if the motivation comes from within the individual or not. In this sense I quite agree with that set out by Frederick Herzberg in an article in the Harvard Business Review, and have commented on this page. In general, factors connected with the satisfaction and therefore the motivation, would be those related to the recognition of achievement, the work itself, responsibility and growth or progress. May not be possible to implement strictly the distinction between external or internal motivation, and which are also aspects that can be favored or not by the policies of the company, but they have to do with the individual, how they feel about their work and contribution to the company and its development. In this connection, the question is: how do we get the person to feel involved, align their interests with those of the company, and then forward to your work? I found a phrase from Dale Carnegie, a pioneer of self-help, and author of How to win friends and influence people, which has caught my attention: “Diplomacy is the art of getting others to do willingly what we want to do. ” Is there a better way to get people to be motivated? If this alignment is achieved between the interests of the company and the employees, it will be well.

In classic styles of leadership, this is achieved with methods based on the carrot and stick, if you do well you prize, and if you do it wrong punishment. But this has nothing to do with job satisfaction, with the motivation to do things. This is easy to see if we think we have a hobby, something that excites us. What we are spending their time flying, and you need not force us to do? If you would pay almost us, instead of charging. Some report that successful entrepreneurs have been able to carry out their project because they have combined their passion with their work, so they spent all the time and that would make all efforts necessary. Can I get this to the employees of a company? Sometimes I hear the Dare program, Chain Dial, directed by Javier Cardenas. I usually also see El Hormiguero, Pablo Motos. In both cases, give the impression of having fun at work, to enjoy doing it.

Would not it be great to get this? Yet much of entrepreneurs strive to employees perceive the work as something negative, in many ways: salary, scheduling, autonomy, recognition … Finally, remember an episode of Tom Sawyer, the great writer Mark Twain. In it, Tom is punished to paint a long fence, but does see her friends is doing a fun task. In the end, they end up begging and paying for them let them do it.
